Muahahaha!

Ok, I've only submitted a few wallpapers here, and so far, none of them have gotten through. The one I submitted today, is an example. Here's the link for the image: [http://slackerserver.com/uploaded/wfuo2.jpg] Normally I wouldnt care, but I havent seen ANYTHING like it here...it makes me wonder....how many more of those damn wallpapers with the shiny, glossy orb-thingy in the middle will they let past moderation? C'mon, I know this is no helluva-job picture, but so many things have passed moderation that either: a.)are the same damn thing as the other, b.)are so minimalistic that they took literally NO work and/ or, b.)are simply annoying. The few wallpapers I've submitted have definitely NOT been the greatest looking, but every time I make a wallpaper its because I figure they are lacking in that area. One example is an Itunes wall that I had created...It certainly didn't look bad, but it certainly wasnt the best thing on the web...but they didnt have anything like it, and it says that THAT is something they are looking for in submitted design, stuff they either dont have much of or something unique. The one I submitted here today that didn't pass moderation is a unique one. I think they people who run this thing should re-check their standards, because I swear I'll throw up if I see another "passed moderation" wallpaper with the damn orb in the dead middle of the picture.....they seem to let EVERY one of those pass...

Link is to a simple Apple logo in the center of a 'blank' wall.

The logo 'can' be uploaded as a wall by Steve Jobs, if he so wishes....and it would be accepted....

I too have tried uploading wallpapers here too which look far better than most of the ones I have seen that have made it. An example of my work...

phr0st: That wallpaper is very good. Are you saying that was rejected? That would surprise me.

On the other hand, alienfast, your "wallpaper" is basically a Mac desktop with a fake error message on it. That's not a wallpaper.

I do agree that most of the wallpapers have a glossy orb in the middle. Its kind of gettin worn out, but they are still very good wallpapers.

Yes my wallpaper was rejected unfortunately, the third fractal wallpaper of mine that was rejected... it's very unfortunate cause I thought people would like it...guess not.

I also had lots of rejections with my wallpaper uploads...and yes it is very frustrating..but I guess it just mean one thing.....you just have to make it better and try to ask yourself what is wrong with it cause surely there is something in there that is not quite acceptable.....there will always be room for improvement...gambatte!!!..keep it up

the third fractal wallpaper of mine that was rejected...

Very few fractals are approved as they tend to be a bit 'too' machine-generated, requiring [or displaying] very little artistic input.  Accepting all of them would open the floodgates and invite more complaint that 'all the walls are the same old same old'....

I have made public two of your wallpapers.

At the end of the day the criteria on wallpaper is as follows:

1) Is it that user's creation?

2) Did it require at least some basic effort?

3) Does it make a good desktop background?

4) Is it something people would want to use?

If it meets all 4, it goes up.  There is often debate, even amongst moderators, on item #2 and #4.

Here is your stuff: https://www.wincustomize.com/MySkins.aspx?ACID=2051551

Thank you for making public some of my wallpapers frogboy.
I see the need for strict criteria guidelines, just do not see how some of the earlier work got on. If your wallpaper library is getting too big, couldn't you just delete some of the older ones that haven't had any downloads in weeks?

Also, I did see one of my wallpapers on the front wallpaper page where it received 130 or so odd # of downloads quite fast, but then was taken off... I was wondering why.

Am guilty of the odd shiny orb. Excuse me, just going out to hang myself.

About the orb thing: It's a fad. A trend. They get replaced. I, for one, don't mind. Some of the works are good, and some are quite bland. But basically, they are quite popular overall, or else there wouldn't be many of them. And if they weren't popular, then somebody who produces such works would be complaining that their creation never gets posted. So just bite your tongue and quit questioning the people that give you free content (or tons of content for a very low subscription).

There are any number of stances a person could take as far as this whole personal works being uploaded thing...The key to remember for those reading as well as those who are being addressed as the final judges of what gets posted and what does not(moderators) hehehe...These are JUST that, PERSONAL WORKS and as anyone who has taken time to create a thing and then put it on display tend to be a little touchy about criticisms i am am sure we all can make testimony to that..Hell its only human nature. And then to have the ULTIMATE determining factor of worth for your piece being does it get posted..We should all understand their sensitivity on the issue...I appreciate this site and all it provides alot of it for "free or a very low subscription".. but i also appreciate the right to post your own opinion on an open forum be it pro or con as long as it is not inflammatory against anyone it is all in fairness i think..SO i have to disagree with anyone who tells someone else not to question a thing they are not pleased with when it is done in a sensible manner....

WELL thats my 1.00 worth of 2 cents

yes, but one thing thats in the guidelines is the whole trendy thing...it says if theres simply too many of thesame, or if it just repeats another idea it wont be passed...but that's just not the case in reality.
